Isio acquires Trafalgar House Pensions Administration Limited to expand pensions administration capabilities
Acquisition brings together two established pensions administration businesses, strengthening Isio’s administration offering.
19 August 2026: Isio has acquired Trafalgar House Pensions Administration Limited (THPA), the specialist pensions administration provider, in a move that strengthens its administration offering and expands the range of schemes it can support.
The acquisition brings together two established and respected pensions administration businesses and reflects Isio’s continued investment in building a larger administration platform for the benefit of trustees, sponsors and members. The acquisition is part of Isio’s long-term growth strategy and follows continued investment across its pensions, employee benefits, and wealth and investment management businesses.
Isio is among the UK’s fastest growing pensions, employee benefits, wealth and investment management firms, with over 1,400 employees in 10 offices serving a wide range of clients, backed by Aquiline, a private investment specialist in financial services and technology.
THPA has a strong reputation for service delivery and long-standing client relationships, and the business will add further scale, expertise and operational capability to Isio’s existing administration offering.
The acquisition, which is expected to close at the end of the month, also broadens the range of administration services available to clients, strengthening Isio’s ability to support schemes of different sizes and requirements, from day-to-day administration through to complex projects and run on activity.
Dan Thomas, Incoming CEO of Isio, commented:
“Isio’s growth strategy has always been underpinned by a desire to challenge the status quo, deliver genuine innovation, and expand the breadth of offerings we bring to the market. This acquisition marks the next major step in Isio’s evolution and I am delighted to be joining the business at a time of such transformation. While we continue to invest heavily in our broader diversification strategies across wealth and employee benefits, this transaction demonstrates Isio’s ongoing commitment to the core part of our business. Pensions administration remains foundational to Isio, and THPA is quite simply a fantastic organisation to combine with Isio’s existing business, under Kevin Howard’s leadership.
“By combining THPA’s exceptional reputation in handling larger, typically more complex schemes combined with Isio’s existing national footprint and multi-disciplinary capabilities, we are uniquely positioned to define what the future of pensions administration looks like. This milestone not only expands our operational capabilities but significantly enhances the value, technology, and specialist services we can provide to clients and their members across the entire industry.”
Kevin Howard, Partner and Head of Pensions Administration at Isio, said:
“I am delighted to welcome THPA clients and colleagues to Isio. This is an exciting and important step in the further development of our administration business, bringing together two highly experienced teams with a shared commitment to delivering high-quality service and better outcomes for clients and members. It increases our scale, strengthens our capabilities and enables us to support a broader range of pension schemes across the market.
THPA is a business we have admired for some time. It has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality administration services and, importantly, shares our ethos of supporting the person behind the transaction. Just as importantly, this acquisition brings together two teams with complementary strengths. We are committed to investing in our administration business and creating the capabilities, technology and services that clients will need in the years ahead, while giving our talented, enlarged team the opportunity to continue to develop their careers.”
Garry Wake, Managing Director at Trafalgar House Pensions Administration Limited, said:
“Joining forces with Isio represents an important and considered step forward for THPA, our clients, and our people. We have long admired Isio’s progressive approach, and bringing together our highly complementary capabilities allows us to create a true market-leading proposition. This partnership provides us with the scale and robust institutional backing required to accelerate our investment in technology, bringing a broader, more multidisciplinary range of services to the market while continuing to provide the depth of expertise and quality of service that clients and their members rely on.
I am incredibly excited about the future opportunities this creates for our talented teams to collaborate, innovate, and define what the administration service of the future looks like.”
Raj Mody, Chair of Trafalgar House Trustees Limited, said:
“We are grateful for the solid and consistent service which THPA has provided members of the Trafalgar House Pension Trust over many years. We wish the team well as they join Isio and look forward to our relationship with Isio as the Scheme’s continuing administrator.”
